What Should I Wear to Paintball? (10 Things You Need)

If you’re new to paintball, the thought of what to wear can be daunting. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! In this post, we’ll share the 10 essentials you need to stay safe and comfortable on the battlefield. So whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, make sure to read on!
Paintball Essentials For Safety
1. Gloves
No matter how much you think you don’t need gloves, trust us you do. The best way to avoid getting paint in your hands is by investing in a good pair of latex gloves. They not only keep the paint out of your hands but they’ll also protect your fingers from getting nicked!
2. Face Protection
This is a must-have for your paintballing outfit. Without proper face protection, you’ll be exposed to the possibility of paintballs hitting your eyes or nose which can do serious damage. We recommend wearing an anti-fog goggle system. It’ll keep you safe and fog free while giving you great visibility!
3. Knee and Elbow Pads
Due to the nature of paintballing, you’re going to be running around a lot. Which means you’ll likely hit the ground at some point or another. So protect yourself and your body with knee and elbow pads. This way if you do fall, your joints will remain unharmed!
4. Waistband Utility Pouch
It sounds silly, but these little pouches can be a huge asset. You’ll want something you can easily clip on and off your belt loops which will allow you to carry the most essential of items. Like extra paintballs for example! Also, they’re great for things like goggles and gloves that tend to get lost or misplaced.
5. Shirt
A comfortable shirt is important when it comes to paintball. You’ll likely be running around the battlefield so you want something lightweight but also durable. It also helps to have a breathable fabric that can wick away sweat and moisture, making it feel cool against your skin.
6. Pants
You want to avoid baggy and loose pants as these can get caught and snagged on bushes and trees which isn’t safe for you or your fellow paintballers. Instead, opt for something form-fitting that won’t restrict movement. Not only will this help keep you safe but it’ll also give you a good range of motion as you’re running around the paintball field.
7. Ear Protection
Paintball guns can be loud and it’s common to feel your ears ringing after a game or two. There are different levels of ear protection so find one that fits your needs and is comfortable before heading out onto the battlefield.
8. Hydration System
You’ll be doing a LOT of running. This means you’ll get thirsty…very quickly. A hydration system is essential for any paintballer, especially newbies who have no clue how long the game will last or what to expect. So bring your water and stay hydrated, it’s crucial!
9. Extra Paintballs
Last but not least, make sure to carry extra paintballs with you so you don’t run out mid-game. And while this is important for every paintballer, it’s even more crucial for newbies who aren’t used to all the running and exertion that goes into playing.
10. A Good Attitude
And of course, probably one of the most important things when it comes to paintball is your attitude. You don’t want to go into the game in a bad mood or an unhappy disposition. Remember, you’re there to have fun!
So make sure your mindset is right. If anything, remember things like reckless play and unsafe gun handling can get you ejected from the field so no point in ruining everyone else’s good time.
